A user on the forums at coolaler has published results of some testing carried out using an early Ivy Bridge sample. Running with a stock speed of 2.0GHz and a Turbo Boost speed of 2.4GHz, this chip was shown running at 2.4GHz with 4 GB of memory at ram timings of 6-9-6-24. Although this chip is running at relatively low core speeds, it is early silicon and does not represent expected clock speeds.
A number of tests were performed at 2.0 GHz and 2.6GHz. A user at Bit-tech performed some tests with as SB-E (i7-3960X) underclocked to 2 GHz to compare results. The i7-3960X had hyperthreading enabled and all cores were active (although he did reduce the number of threads used to 8 in one of the tests!).
A single thread benchmark, using SuperPI, showed that both chips have identical performance. Using the Fritz Chess Benchmark, the 3960X (using 8 threads) only scored 20% better than the 4 threaded Ivy Bridge chip. Testing with Cinebench, the 3960X (using all 12 threads) scored 5.68 points, compared to 3.35 on the Ivy Bridge.
The tests so far are promising, and it will be nice to see what refinements we get as we get closer to the release date. This chip is believed to be stepping B2, although that is unconfirmed.
Sam CPU bi trebalo da bude 20% brži, uz manji TDP i bolje OC mogućnosti, (i nekih 60% jači GPU ako je to nekom bitno).Po zadnjim dostupnim informacijama moći ćeš, ali ipak treba sačekati zvanično obaveštenje iz Intela, da se ne desi da Ivy ide samo na nove Z77/75 ploče.
A i što bi ti uopšte menjao, nećeš dobiti nikakav drastičan skok performansi, jedino nešto manji TDP.
Otkud sad cak 20% brzi. Meni se cini da rekose oko 5% na optimizacije i jos malo na malo visi klok. Ivy bi trebalo da bude veci pomak u snjizenju potrosnje i temperature nego u samim performansama.Sam CPU bi trebalo da bude 20% brži, uz manji TDP i bolje OC mogućnosti, (i nekih 60% jači GPU ako je to nekom bitno).
Što se tiče menjanja, ako bi se to moglo odraditi uz relativno ok doplatu, što da ne. Mada nema realne potrebe za tako nečim.
Ali za one koji imaju nešto starije od SB-a i planiraju da se ponove, IB će biti odlična kupovina.
Moci ces, ne brini. Samo sto ti je jedino logican upgrade na i7-3xxx. Iskreno sam iznenadjen niskim TDP verovatno se i manje greju. Predpostavljam.cek sad ja imamovu plocu iz konfe i ja sam update BIOS i ja na nju mogu stavim neki od ovih navedenih cpu-ova iz tabele ????
Bice verovatno. Pazi, ovo su Intel specifikacije. Verujem da ce proizvodjachi matichnih plocha ugradjivati dodatne kontrolere uz pomoc kojih ce PCI kartice raditi.Dal su oni normalni, pa sta cu sa zvucnom

Ovo su Z i H cipsetovi. Jel ce biti i P ? Ima li nade za moju zvucnu ?
O kakvom vecem keshu oni pricaju, kad je cache identican ? Po intelu dobitak klok za klok je 15% u sta cisto sumnjam, s obzirom da je mikroarhitektura identicna. 15% je bio realan skok sa Nehalema na SB.
