Opera 10.70.3452 Beta

Tired of 10.60 already? You should not be! It is a great release. But if you’re up for it in the summer heat, we have a new build that needs testing. One of the fixes we hope will further improve stability on Mac.

We are very interested in crash logs from this build, so please don’t hold them back.
PS: The version number is now set to “10.70” to differentiate it from the 10.60 final.
PS2: It is definitely summer in Oslo!

…and we’re back with another build that addresses some stability problems on Mac. Please give it a go, and let us know (by submitting crash logs) if you still run into a crashes (as always).

To sa download-om iz opere mislim da je sporadicna pojava...evo, meni na primer radi lepo download poslednjih driver-a iz poslednje opere, ali kapiram da je neminovno da se i meni pre ili kasnije desi isto...
Inace, kod opere me nervira neki drugi bag...kad se pretovari tab-ovima, onda nece da radi scroll na wheel click

A ja sam odradio sa "save to download folder" pa posto je drajver skinuo kao .htm promenio sam extenziju u .exe i dobio mormalan exe fajl.
Skinuo sam ga i sa IE i on radi normalno.
Doduse nisam ga jos pokrenuo.

Interesantno sta mi pise za Security za ovaj najnoviji drajver( u dnu prozora). To nisam primetio do sada.

Opera 10.61 RC2 build 3476

Hello everyone!

This is my first and (at least for the foreseeable future) last post on this blog:
For the last nine weeks I have been a summer intern in the Desktop Team and as a long time Opera fan I totally enjoyed it! There are some very cool things happening in the future of Opera and I'm sure that they will make it rock even harder!

If you have wondered what we summer interns did this year: We mostly developed tools for the testers and developers at Opera that should help them to release builds even faster!

Todays RC mostly contains stability fixes. But we had to revert the fix for the blanking out of the start bar, as it caused some other problems, and it probably won't make it in 10.61 Final. You should also look out for problems with cookies as we fixed a bug in the cookie settings. There are also some improvements for Geolocation on Unix and some fixes for memory issues.

Opera 10.70 build 3468

Presto update for Opera 10.70

As you may know, we have released two Release Candidates for Opera 10.61, which is a security and bugfix release. In the meantime, we have also been working a bigger upgrade, which is currently called "10.70", although the final version number is yet to be determined.

This means that we are testing the 10.61 release, and 10.70 in parallel, which may cause some confusion if you look at build numbers. The most recent 10.61 build may have a higher build number than the latest 10.70 build, but that is simply the number assigned to them by the build system. Opera "10.70" is still the main development branch, while 10.61 is only intended to be a smaller security/bug fix release.

With that out of the way, let's return to the actual snapshot. This one contains mostly Presto (Core) changes, and there are even a few new features:

HTML5 HTML5 HashChangeEvent event object
CSS3 object-fit and object-position from the CSS3 Paged Media Module properties (renamed from image-fit and image-position. Requires the -o- prefix, but we recommend that you include it without a prefix if you use it on a page)
Selection.selectAllChildren

There are also a few optimizations for SVG, improvements to the JavaScript debugger, and we have added the option opera:config#VisitedLink|VisitedLinksState to control :visited (0 - disable :visited, 1 - match same domain only, 2 - enable :visited normally).

Opera 10.70 build 3477

Yesterday's "10.70" (not necessarily the final version number) snapshot contained a new batch of Presto fixes and even web standards improvements. Today we're focusing more on the desktop side again.

But before I continue, I just have a quick note regarding the addition of object-fit and object-position from the CSS3 Paged Media Module properties in the previous 10.70 snapshot: These are currently only supported with the -o- prefix, but we recommend that you also add them without the prefix as well if you choose to use them on a page. It should also be noted that the specification may not yet have been updated to reflect that image-fit and image-postion have been renamed.

Returning to this snapshot, there are quite a few crash fixes, and we have improved the Add Bookmark dialog when you try to add a site that's already in your bookmarks by letting you change the folder, and adding a message letting you know what's going on.

If you look at the build numbers, you will notice that Mac and Unix use the same number. We are currently working on synchronizing build numbers across desktop platforms, and this is the first step. Windows will hopefully follow in the near future.
