Au, lik kupio GX480 za 1680x1050 da se igra.....

Crysis Warhead rezultat nije los, ali nije ni nesto specijalno, sigurno ne bih dao preko 500 evra za takvu kartu.

Sad sam provrteo Warhead sa ovim kartama sto imam klokovanim na istim podesavanjima koje kostaju 220 evra i imam 20% slabiji reuzltat od 480 koja kosta 500.....

Jednostavno karta je epic fail za te pare...

Sa AA mogu da se kladim da ne bi bila tolika razlika, jer sto vise dodajes detalje GPU je zahtevnija igra.... Vidi se da su smesne razilke u najvecoj rezoluciji, a i 5870 CF je jaci od 480, tak oda njoj i7 ne bi trebao da bude usko grlo i da je na default.

U Proseku 5970 sije 480GTX na tim rezolucijama za 40%

To je sustina dual gpu karti ....

Za Diabolo na 1024x768 nije potreban dual GPU jos manje ima smisla single GPU od 500+€

Moje uporedjenje izmedjnu 5970 i 480 se prvenstveno bazira na slicnim cenama a ne na slicnoj nameni....

Cinjenica je takva da ako puknes 500€+ na AMD imas kartu koja ce ti u svim segmentima biti minimum ravnomerna sa 480GTX + sto ces u highend rezolucijama imati daleko bolji proizvod.
Takodje je cinjenica da 480GTX sto se tice potrosnje , buke i termalnih osobina po svim kriterijumima slici 5970 ..... sto ga i kod silent ljubitelja ne cini bas vise interesantnijim od dual gpu varijante AMD'a

Realno ne vidim nijedan argument zbog cega bi se neko odlucio za 480GTX ako ostavimo drajvere

Well, my 480 arrived a little while ago, and while not going to throw out a bunch of benchmarks, I will report on a few things.

First, this card is absolutely quieter and cooler than my 295, without a doubt. It idles at 44°C which is about what any 200 series card idles at.

Furmark, which made my previous card hit the high 90's or higher at 100% fan speed, got no higher than 85°C @ 100% fan speed, and 90°C @ 85% fan speed. Furmark is also the worst case scenario that your card will ever see.

I looped the Heaven 2.0 benchmark for about 30 minutes and at the end the highest temp was 81°C @ 75% fan speed.

Crysis, which regularly hit high 80's on my last card at max fan speed, hit a max of 79°C @ 77% fan speed, which is incidentally the level at which i can finally hear the fan ramp up.

Battlefield: BC 2 hit a max of 77°C @ 73% fan speed.

Real Temp shows zero difference in my CPU temps from my last card to this card. It hasn't increased my case temps a single bit.


As I mentioned before, my case is a pretty typical case, with only four fans. I have a PC Power and Cooling 910 PS, X58 SLI mb, i7 920 @ 3.8ghz, 6 gig of DDR3 @ 1600mhz, two HD's and a DVD drive. The fan on the 480 has to ramp up to 77% before i can even hear it over the rest of my computer. My case sits about 2 feet to the right of me and below on a little shelf in my computer table designed for this so maybe that helps. I also like to keep my house nice and cool, so it's a comfortable 72°C in here right now, which is how it will stay until next winter.

Are these cards as cool and quiet as Ati's latest offerings? Not by a long shot, but they aren't really any worse than the last generation of Nvidia cards either. People have blown this so far out of proportion it's ridiculous.

Anyone who had no problems with Nvidia's last generation of video cards (200's) will have absolutely no problem with the 400 series of cards either.

Single GPU, manje problema.

So far I couldn't be more happy. This 480 surpasses my 295 in every possible way. I've yet to play a game that didn't run smoother on the 480, with more eye candy, and at lower temps. Easily worth the $80 (Sold my 295 for $420 last week) it actually cost me to upgrade.

Now the question becomes, do i really need this other 480? I've yet to open it and I'm not sure if I really need that much more power, considering how well everything is already running.

What is very interesting is the fan noise and temps: fan noise @ 70% is not loud at all, just air whooshing at a dull tone, no "whine" or whirring. It is perfectly comfortable to me, whereas a 5870 at above 38% began to emit a whirr, and eventually a hairdryer-like noise @ 70%+ speed. Now, the big surprise here for me was, that the temperatures are nowhere near as high in my system as they are in the reviews... take a look at the data I took from GPU-Z 0.42 and eVGA Precision in my notes:

NFS Shift peak temp: 76c
BFBC2 peak temp: 80c
SF4 peak temp: 72c

This is with the overclock in the picture and fan speed shown. Again, the fan is very unobtrusive noise-wise inside my case (Coolermaster RC690). Idle temperature is 35c after letting it sit for around 25 minutes websurfing.

5870 OC'd @ launch: 32-35min, 50avg


Street Fighter 4:

GTX470 OC'd: 148.2fps avg
5870 stock: 124.4fps avg


Battlefield Bad Company 2:
2560x1600, 4x AA, 16x AF, transparency multisampling, max options w/ HBAO enabled, DX11, Port Valdez "Rush" mode (full game)

GTX470 OC'd: 37min, 52avg
5870 Stock: 25min, 41avg

I'm surprised to say the least, primarily with the minimum FPS #'s. These are the main games I played that I had documented my framerates on well while I owned my 5870... so they are the ones I'm using to compare. The averages aren't terribly impressive for a mediumly-OC'd card vs. the 5870, in my opinion, in BFBC2/SF4, but the minimums very much took me off-guard. NFS Shift and BFBC2 saw large min. FPS gains in my system, while SF4 runs internally at 60fps and performs 100% ideally on either card.

I'm wondering if the retail boards have some sort of difference in the cooling, because the whole fan-noise and temperature thing is an entirely different picture in my system than *any* of the reviews I saw. I'll be testing Dirt 2 later tonight, but I don't have any actual data written down except for a few #'s off the starter track... so that's not really a comprehensive test by a longshot but I can see if it's roughly the same, a bit better, or a bit worse.

Naravno, moj konj zna da hendluje transparent AA i jos po nesto. Drugi konj, kog sam imao, se ritao mnogo i bio je divljak pa sam ga prodao. Ne volim konje koji nece da slusaju

This conclusion is a short one and it dictated itself. The HD 5870 overclocks solidly in many cases and once overclocked to about 975/1300 MHz it will in many cases catch the stock GTX 480 when performance is already reasonably close. However, the GTX 480 when it is overclocked also turns into a performance monster and in many cases now runs away from even the overclocked HD 5870. This bodes very well for GF100 Fermi architecture and indicates that NVIDIA has very solid scalable new architecture to build on although it is still on an improving process.

Isto je i kod mene. Mada, volio bih ovaj 480/470 cooler imati na mojoj karti.
