Designed from a clean slate, Nokia Ovi Suite 2.0 offers a new, more user-friendly approach to Nokia PC software. The application is refreshingly limited, slim, and fast. The completely new user interface gives you easy access to your important files and information as all the functionalities are available within one window.

Nokia Ovi Suite 2.0 is intended as the only computer application you will need from Nokia. It will eventually replace the current Nokia PC Suite and its variants like Nokia Ovi Suite 1.x and Nokia Nseries PC Suite. Nokia Ovi Suite integrates also the main features from Nokia Photos, Nokia Software updater and Nokia Map loader.
Compatibility and system requirements

Nokia device: Nokia Ovi Suite 2.0 supports over 100 different Nokia S60 and S40 devices with more being added all the time. It should work on all Nokia devices based on S60 3rd Edition, S60 5th Edition, or S40 6.1 or newer.

* PC: Nokia Ovi Suite 2.0 Beta supports Windows Vista SP1 or newer and Windows XP SP2 or newer. We have also tested Nokia Ovi Suite 2.0 Beta with Windows 7 RC release and we plan to support Windows 7 when commercially available. System requirements:
* 2GB hard disk space, 1GHz Intel Pentium 4, 64MB display memory, 512MB RAM, 1024x768 resolution and 24-bit color graphics card

Nokia Ovi Suite 2.0 has been built using the Nokia Qt Software, the cross-platform application and UI framework.

1. What happens to Nokia PC Suite?
Nokia Ovi Suite will be the only computer application offered by Nokia. Both Nokia PC Suite and Nokia Ovi Suite can be installed on the same PC. However they should not be used simultaneously.

2. Does it have the same features as Nokia PC Suite?
In high-level YES, backup, sync, messages, software updates, photos, music etc. are there, but the UI has been built in a consistent way, and also the weighting of the feature has been changed (according to our research).

3. What happens to Nokia Ovi Suite 1.x and Nseries Suite when installing Nokia Ovi Suite?
Nokia Ovi Suite installation will uninstall Nokia Ovi Suite 1.x and Nseries Suite

4. What happens to content that I have had in Nokia Ovi Suite, Nokia Photos or Nokia Music?
Photos, videos and music are automatically available for Nokia Ovi Suite 2.0.

5. What devices are supported?
Nokia Ovi Suite 2.0 supports over 100 different Nokia S60 and S40 devices with more being added all the time.

6. What languages are supported?
30+ languages will be supported.

7. How big is the installation size?
Approximately 90 MB.

8. What are the benefits of syncing my device with Nokia Ovi Suite?
Syncing is a safe and easy way to keep all your information up to date in both, your device and your computer. Also if you ever happen to lose your content you can restore it easily.

9. When updating the firmware how can you keep ALL of your purchased apps? In the past a backup has never been able to recover all my apps and this would be really hard for a consumer to accept.
This really depends on the device used. Latest Nokia devices are able to keep the personal data in place - but there is an issue with legacy devices. It is highly recommended to take a backup before the firmware update.

Installing the software automatically uninstalls Nokia Ovi Suite 1.x and Nseries PC Suite, as well as exits Nokia PC Suite if it is open.
Prior to installation, we recommend you to backup your important content, such as contacts, calendar, photos, and music, for example to memory card or with other backup applications. Nokia Ovi Suite contains backup wizard, which can be used for taking backups. Nokia Ovi Suite 2.0 Beta uses same databases as Nokia Music and Nokia Photos. Nevertheless, it is always possible that some interoperability problems arise.

Valjda će neko napraviti portable verziju (sada imam PC Suite portable, mada ga retko koristim).

Kad kupim nov telefon probacu, ovaj je otuzan sam od sebe pa ga necu opterecivati dodatno , a do tad ce i ovo izaci iz BETA-e...

P.S. Konstatovao bih da "proizvodjaci" softvera sve ceshce uzmu program (postojecu verziju), nashminkaju ga (performanse ostanu iste/pogorshaju se) i plasiraju ga na trzishte kao potpuno novu ultra mega giga verziju! Cemu ovo ne znam, ali pocinje da me iritira

^ jbga ljudi se loze na sminku a i idu na ubrzani razvoj hardware-a pa se verovatno nose mislju kako jedan prosecan danasnji kompjuter ovo moze brzo da tera bez opterecenja a uz to je i izgled nov.
Drugo, pokazuju svojim kupcima da su tu, da stalno rade na poboljsavanju i supportu bez obzira sto su poboljsanja mizerna ...

A ne kao Samsung.. Cekao sam na software update u nmjihovom PC Suite-u (inace preslikan Nokia PC Suite) i kad je izasao Software Updater, tj.novi PC Suite sa tom komponentom, dobio sam obavestenje da moj telefon nije podrzan iako je trenutno bio jedini koji je imao tu opciju u PC Suite-u (INNOV8) i zato sam ga lepo prodao... Kupicu ga ponovo, mozda, ako rese taj support i azuriranje a taman ce i cenom se spustiti u mase..
U svakom slucaju, ovo je pozitivna stvar za nokiju, mada su krenuli sa OVI brendom bash agresivno..
Mosh Nokia je posta takodje Nokia Ovi store sto mi se bas i ne svidja..

Hi all. As some of you Beta Labs users have noticed, we started yesterday deploying Nokia Ovi Suite 2.0.0.10 release via web update for existing Beta users. At the same time, users visiting ovi.com’s and nokia.com’s Nokia Ovi Suite web pages were able to download Nokia Ovi Suite 2.0.0.10 release. If you didn’t get web update notification, you can download software directly.

This means, that Nokia Ovi Suite 2.0 Beta is now Graduated from Nokia Beta Labs, going into public and many many users will start to use this application around the world. We’re also working towards placing Nokia Ovi Suite 2.0.0.10 into product CD/DVDs in device sales boxes.

Creating new products with this level of complexity is never easy. Last year, Nokia had many different PC application products, like Nokia PC Suite, Nokia Ovi Suite 1.0/1.1, Nokia Nseries PC Suite, Nokia Music, Nokia Software Updater, Nokia Map Loader, Nokia PC Suite Enterprise Edition etc etc, each having different targets, feature sets and design principles. This way of working didn’t lead anymore to any positive outcome, most of the effort was going into maintenance and minor improvements and prevented us from concentrating on new things, improving user experience and supporting other than Windows operating system. So we started to really think, what are most important features from end user point of view, which they can’t survive without. Below you see one conceptual screenshot from Nokia Ovi Suite, which was explored during last year. Lots of end user surveying and explorations were done, before we decided the features for the first Nokia Ovi Suite 2.0 release. But as you can see from screenshot, there are tons things, which we are thinking, evaluating and planning for upcoming Nokia Ovi Suite releases. Also change into Qt framework makes it easier from developer point of view and gives us possibility to support other operating systems, like Mac OSX in future.

Currently Nokia Ovi Suite 2.0 supports exactly 142 different device models from Nokia (over 200, if you count in all different variants). Lots of issues found by you have been incorporated into product during the development.

This is good opportunity for us in Nokia Ovi Suite team to thank you for your efforts. We’ve masses of feedback and feature suggestions from you available and we’re consolidating that feedback, what could be done in future Nokia Ovi Suite versions.

What comes to next versions of Nokia Ovi Suite? Our developers are already heavily working towards next Nokia Ovi Suite releases and our hope is, that we will get some new features and improvements available for you in coming months as new Beta releases.
