3.7″ screen – This is exactly the same as the HTC Desire I currently have, and I know it is very clear. While it may not be competition for the best out there, no average consumer will notice the difference.
4GB internal storage and external Micro SD card slot – If I’m honest, this would probably be enough space for me. I would use an 8GB SD card and, with a few sd-ext tweaks, get my apps running externally. I see no need for huge local amounts of storage when so much is available in the cloud.
1 GHz single-core processor – This is the same speed of processor that has been powering smartphones for years and, while it may not be able to handle Sense 4 as smoothly as other phones, it will certainly manage stock ICS.
5MP f/2.0 28mm camera – Now, this is very interesting. The HTC One V has the same camera specs as the X and S apart from the number of megapixels it can capture. This means the pictures are the same quality, just not as large. But let’s think, why do we need large photos? Even 5MP photos are larger than our desktop monitors can display. I’m not planning on making any A1 posters any time soon!
Classic curved buttom – The V has the same design present on several of its predecessors, the Legend, Desire and Wildfires. The bottom of the phone is slightly curved, which, on the previous phones, angled the hard keys towards you making the phones easier to use. Now though, HTC has switched to the capacitive ICS trio – not built into the software I must add. This makes the design almost obsolete as the buttons aren’t positioned on the angled surface.

4.3″ screen – This is a little larger than I would like, 4.0″ being the sweet-spot, but it is closest to perfect. It isn’t true HD but comes pretty close with a high number of pixels per square inch.
16GB internal storage – Of all the phone in the One range, this is the best option for me. It’s enough to store all my documents, videos and podcasts as well as all my apps and backups. Again, what’s with the lack of expandable storage?
1.5GHz dual-core processor – This is three times as fast as the processor in my current, the HTC Desire, and I know for sure it is capable of running ICS and Sense smoothly – I’ll probably go for stock ICS anyway.
8MP f/2.0 28mm Camera – The S’ camera is exactly the same as the X’s – exactly. HTC is giving the tag-line “amazing camera, authentic sound,” to the One series and the X and S seem to stand up to the slogan.
Specially treated aluminium uni-body casing – This is just pure space-aged awesomeness! The casing is treated right through and adds a gradient of colour to the casing. This along with the Gorilla Glass featured on all of the One phones will surely make the S a tough nut to crack.

X
4.7″ screen – This is far too big for me, but I would love a true HD screen . Why can’t all this pixel-perfectness be compacted down?
32GB internal storage – I’m using 8GB right now so that’s a little too much. So many things are in the cloud it barely matters. My one problem is that without an expansion slot for a Micro SD card, I can’t quickly copy a backup custom ROM from my PC if a bootloop or if some other nuisance occurs.
1.5GHz Quad-core processor – The single core 1GHz processor I’m using now still seems fast to me and I’m running ICS, so I’m not too sure we really need such fast processors yet.
8MP f/2.0 28mm Camera – The camera on all the Ones look good and ImageSense looks like it works really well, beating the iPhone 4S’ HDR functionality hands down.
Plastic uni-body casing – HTC’s uni-body designs are really nice and feel good in the hand, but plastic feels a tad cheap for this, the most expensive of the One range.
