Although it is currently cooking Windows 7 Service Pack 1 (SP1), Microsoft continues to ensure that the latest version of its Windows client continues to evolve even ahead of the upgrade planned for the first half of 2011.

Case in point, two application compatibility updates offered by the Redmond company to customers this week.

Accompanying the updates are two knowledge base articles, including KB 2272691 (Application Compatibility Update for Windows 7 and Windows Server 2008 R2: August 2010).

In addition, the software giant also released KB 982110 (The QueryPathOfRegTypeLib function does not return the correct path for a 32-bit version of an application in a 64-bit edition of Windows 7 or in Windows Server 2008 R2).

According to Microsoft, KB 2272691 deals with problems related to Sensible Vision FastAccess.

Essentially, the refresh “updates the soft block to make sure that the soft block only applies to FastAccess 2.4.7 and earlier versions,” Microsoft explained.

A soft block is designed to notify end users running Sensible Vision FastAccess on Windows 7 that the application is incompatible with the operating system.

“The Windows Application Compatibility Update is a software update that improves the compatibility experience in the following Microsoft Windows operating systems: Windows 7 and Windows Server 2008 R2,” the company informed.

“Microsoft regularly releases application compatibility updates for these Windows operating systems.”

Windows 7 and Windows Server 2008 R2 customers can also download the KB 982110 updates.

“You have a computer that is running a 64-bit edition of Windows 7 or Windows Server 2008 R2. You run a 32-bit version of an application that uses the QueryPathOfRegTypeLib function to retrieve the path of a registered type library,” Microsoft said.

“However, the QueryPathOfRegTypeLib function does not return the correct path. The path of the 64-bit version of the type library is returned instead of the path of the 32-bit of the type library.”

Koliko sam upoznat 7 SP1 je jos u beta fazi i ima ograniceni rok trajanja.Finalna verzija bi trebala da izadje u prvom kvartalu sledece godine.

Ja cu se ipak sluziti za sada samo auto update-om,i ako je ovo na zvanicnom MS sajtu,opet mi nekako deluje sigurnije da koristim auto update.

Upravo sam odradio poslednji auto update,ja imam legalan win 7 x64 pro,ne znam da li to ima veze sa tim "obaranjem sistema"

Edit:evo sad sam ga i restartovao posle updatea i sistem se najnormalnije podigao,tako da verujem da sam dobio odgovor na svoje pitanje
