As its release (which remains unconfirmed) is closing in, Gigabyte's latest high-end X58 motherboard, the EX58-EXTREME 2, has changed its name and is now officially known as GA-X58A-UD7. First seen a couple of weeks ago, the board is equipped with a massive cooling system that includes a waterblock for the northbridge, and features support for LGA 1366 processors, six DDR3 memory slots and four PCIe x16 slots for Quad SLI/CrossFireX multi-GPU setups.
The upcoming release includes six SATA 3.0 Gbps and four SATA 6.0 Gbps ports, two USB 3.0 and two eSATA connectors, dual Gigabit Ethernet, 7.1 channel audio, FireWire, Power and Clear CMOS buttons, and a debug LED. The GA-X58A-UD7's price tag should be over $400 so the board is going to be one expensive Christmas gift.
